“In the darkness, always be the light”

A sharing PSA thought from my desk ….

Which activities make you lose track of time?

For me … just about anything outdoorsy will make me lose track of time. Take today for instance; I went tree top trekking with my 17,13.5, and 12 year old children. I didn’t check the time, until we were sure that our tight rope walking day through the trees was done. It was enjoyable to watch them coach each other through the course, not ask what time it was, and yell encouraging words at me … with the occasional, “Mom, you ok? …. Mom, you gotta keep going. Mom, watch out for the giant hole in the 40ft high net. Mom, can you go faster? Mom, grab the cable and lean right … lean left, just step over it … you’ll be fine,” as I tried not to die with each step.

I wrote a piece awhile back about FEAR … today I had to practice what I preach, and show my kids that the only way to conquer FEAR … is to just do it; walk it, breathe through it, but to also show them that it’s ok to set boundaries and limits when navigating your course. Today my limit was a hard NO on the double black diamond course … PSA … a new fear of 40 foot high swinging logs was unlocked for me. Although, I am down for a good thrilling adventure … reading my book on the beach also makes me lose track of time. – xoxox @scarlettangel777 💋
